Farther along West Road, looking west, the bike route turns left onto Salty Ridge Road for a short distance before rejoining the railroad right of way. Photo taken June, 2005. We get a small, nonstandard sign warning of the $100 fine for failure to yield to traffic in a crosswalk, then a sign immediately before a crosswalk instructing bicyclists to ride single file. But bicyclists making a vehicular left turn should merge to just to the right of the centerline before reaching the intersection. There is no very safe way to make a left turn from the right edge of the roadway, as following photos and videos will show.
